Staff Bank
Are you looking to tailor your shifts to suit your needs? Joining the Staff Bank is a great way to enhance your earnings and your skillset. This is great for those who cannot commit to a regular pattern of working or those who find it difficult to find posts with the hours and times to suit them.
Acting as an exclusive internal agency for the Trust, this provides an opportunity toÌýexperience the majority of wards and departments in the hospital before potentially applying for a substantive contract. Although working for the Central Bank is not employed contracted work, you do need to be registered to work for our service.ÌýÌý
We have three different Staff Banks at the Â鶹ӰÊÓ:
- Central Bank (Eastern services)
- Estates and Facilities Bank (Eastern services)
- Staff Bank (Northern services)

What pay and benefits will I get?

Joining the Bank is an excellent way to get first-hand experience from a variety of specialties. Not only will you get first choice of shifts to suit your needs, you'll be supported by our warm and friendly team and an exclusive training package to enhance your career progression.Ìý
All Bank Staff at the Â鶹ӰÊÓ will be paid in arrears for shifts worked each month according to the National Agenda for Change pay scales. Bank-only workers qualify for the generous NHS Pension alongside 28 days pro rata annual leave per year. Currently, there is no provision for paid maternity leave or occupational sick pay, but you will be entitled to Statutory Maternity Pay. The amount you'll get depends on the amount of National Insurance contributions you make.
Please let us know if you are expecting a baby so that we can make sure your working environment is safe and comfortable for you. Once you have finished Maternity Leave, you will receive a warm welcome back to the Central Bank - please remember to brush up on your annual skills refreshers when you do.
